Doctors + Insurance = Fun!!

So the hubs and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 5-6 months now. There's a problem, I haven't been ovulating. So I have been keeping a temperature chart and taking a medication to stimulate ovulation. Well, that hasn't been working either. So I went in today to the doctor to begin ovulation induction. So, I was prescribed a new medication and stopped by the pharmacy to pick it up. My insurance didn't cover it!!! It will pay for 3 rounds of IVF at roughly $10,000 a pop, but not $9 for medication to get pregnant!! Go figure.

I also got my new yarn swift in the mail today!!! I bought tinker toys and made a swift. So I can make my own yarn cakes now!!! It's so cool!! I also got 3 new yarns in the mail today. One is for a friend for a pair of socks.

Insurance companies are retarded! Mine tried to drop me from insurance as soon as I had surgery! I had to hobble my way down to the insurance company and fill out paper work that said I have no other insurance that is it just papers that said "I have no other insurance" retarded! Then they tried to deny paying for a medication I have been taking for years but my husband made a very forceful phone call and they covered it. And you don't even want to know what my inlaws have been going through before and after my father inlaws transplant. I'm wishing you good luck on the baby!

I work for a medical company and I sell motorized wheelchairs and medical alert systems as part of my job. In my opinion, having a medical insurance can be a lot of help in many ways. Everything has its pros and cons but some insurance companies (primary and secondary) offer to cover 80 to 90% of the cost of the items we sell. that alone makes it easier for our clients to purchase needed things to assist them with their health and others.
